Participative Approach to Promote the Reading Habit for Grade 1-3 Students

Abstract

This research aimedto : 1. to study the factors promoting the reading  and 2. to study the participative approach to promote the reading habit for grade 1-3 students.This research was acted in 2 circles with 10 steps The findings of the study revealed that : 1) The factors promoting to reading of children found that parents did not have time to get closer of reading. A number of books per student services and quality books that stimulate children's interest were not enough. Parents and community were hardly supplementary reading books to children. Overall teachers, parents and the community lacked of a concrete cooperation projects and activities that promote reading, the lack of implementation of ongoing, serious patterns and mechanisms to mobilize and encourage a love of reading. 2) The participation was promoted and organized following the procurement or resource books for children, both in quantitative and quality. A strong partnership of schools, parents and the community was good way to do with the following approach: (1) a model of reading (Modeling) through all of their daily activities such as daily reading and coaching reading by brotherhood of the students. (2) The co-cultivation of continuous reading (Cultivating) through reading Interface and provide an environment conducive to read both at home and school (3) Creative value through empirical reading activities reading (Value Clarification). These activities were as follows, Parents read to their children, grandparents, uncles, aunts, neighbors, reading to children (to cultivate the reading) with reading
