Abstract

This research on The Development of weaved loincloth of Ban Klong Chareon Weaver Group for Professional and Community Product Development’s purposes are 1) To study the format of hand weaved loincloths of Ban Klong Chareon 2) To design and develop loincloth products of Ban Klong Chareon and 3) To convey knowledge on design and product development of loincloths to Ban Klong Chareon Weaver group. The research finds that there are many formats of hand weaved loincloths of Ban Klong Chareon Weaving group including traditional loincloth format, Olive loincloth, and small eye loincloth. These cotton loincloth products have been developed into many formats and became souvenir of Lan Krabeu District. The weaving group wants to develop there product’s format to meet customers’ interests. The development has been done in cooperation with the community. They analyzed undeveloped product format to meet customers’ interests by matching new colors for better attention. In order to develop the loincloth format, weaving group’s potentials have been analyzed. The researcher collected problems and purposes from the community then analyzed and established Idea Sketch to develop loincloth format that meet market demand. The idea sketch of development includes 4 ideas. The sketches base on design and development framework of expert. The researcher and community come to the conclusion that the fourth idea sketch fits (consists of 3 pieces) the development plan of loincloth product. The idea is to integrate loincloth product with other products. The mission in conveying knowledge to the community has been well-accepted. The weaving group interest in design and development of different product formats. This knowledge can be generated along with opening innovative worldviews in the community. The community can use this knowledge to target the customers, find products’ strength, reduce costs, and choose the suitable materials. People in the community also benefits in systematic planning of product strategies. They are able to analyze products’ strengths and weaknesses, markets, and products development which could lead to sustainable development in the future.
