การประเมินการใช้ทักษะการทำความคุ้นเคยกับสภาพแวดล้อมและการเคลื่อนไหวในชีวิตประจำวันของคนพิการทางการเห็น: กรณีศึกษาอำเภอกุฉินารายณ์ จังหวัดกาฬสินธุ์

บทคัดย่อ

ที่มาและความสำคัญ: การฝึกการทำความคุ้นเคยกับสภาพแวดล้อมและการเคลื่อนไหว (orientation and mobility training: O&M) สำหรับคนพิการทางการเห็นได้รับการส่งเสริมให้ดำเนินการทั่วประเทศไทยตั้งแต่ พ.ศ. 2553 อย่างไรก็ตาม ยังไม่ทราบแน่ชัดว่าคนพิการทางการเห็นนำการฝึกดังกล่าวนั้นไปใช้ในชีวิตประจำวันหรือไม่


วัตถุประสงค์: เพื่อประเมินการใช้ทักษะ O&M ในชีวิตประจำวันของคนพิการทางการเห็นที่ผ่านการฝึก O&M ตามหลักสูตรของโรงพยาบาลสมเด็จพระยุพราชกุฉินารายณ์ จังหวัดกาฬสินธุ์


วิธีการวิจัย: ศึกษาในอาสาสมัครคนพิการทางการเห็นจำนวน 40 ราย (หญิง 26 ราย ชาย 14 ราย อายุเฉลี่ย 61.1 ปี) ที่ได้รับการฝึก O&M จำนวน 80 ชั่วโมง ตามหลักสูตรของโรงพยาบาลสมเด็จพระยุพราชกุฉินารายณ์ ประกอบด้วยการบรรยายวิชาการและการฝึกปฏิบัติทักษะ O&M จำนวน 20 ทักษะ การประเมินการใช้ทักษะ O&M ในชีวิตประจำวันของอาสาสมัครดำเนินการในสัปดาห์ที่ 4 และสัปดาห์ที่ 8 ภายหลังเสร็จสิ้นการฝึก โดยใช้แบบสอบถามที่ออกแบบโดยผู้วิจัย วิเคราะห์ผลการศึกษาด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนาและ McNemar test


ผลการวิจัย: จากทักษะ O&M จำนวน 20 ทักษะที่อาสาสมัครได้รับการฝึก พบว่ามีจำนวน 5 ทักษะที่อาสาสมัครมากกว่าร้อยละ 50 ไม่ได้นำไปใช้ในชีวิตประจำวัน โดยส่วนมากเป็นทักษะที่เกี่ยวกับการเคลื่อนที่โดยมีผู้นำทาง


สรุปผล: หลังจากผ่านการฝึก O&M คนพิการทางการเห็นในอำเภอกุฉินารายณ์ จังหวัดกาฬสินธุ์ นำทักษะ O&M ที่ได้รับการฝึกโดยส่วนใหญ่ไปใช้ในชีวิตประจำวัน ผลการศึกษาที่ได้สามารถนำไปใช้ในการพัฒนาหลักสูตรการฝึก O&M ให้เหมาะสมแก่กลุ่มเป้าหมายยิ่งขึ้นต่อไป
