The Development of The Bureau of Science and Technology, Department of Science Service to Digital Library
The Bureau of Science and Technology, Department of Science Service (DSS) or well known in Department of Science Service Library which is a special library of Science and Technology (S&T) information has continuously developed the S&T information services for responding to user needs. To access information in the 21st century, users have changed from physically visit the library to access electronic resources. Therefore, the DSS library has adapted the traditional service in S&T information to allow users to access the information easily and conveniently. The DSS library has developing the S&T information online database, the “Science e-book” application for users to read online on mobile devices and the S&T knowledge in the form of digital multimedia. In addition, the social media have been applied for communication and information. These developments and application has led to achieve the strategy of the Department of Science Service during 2017-2018 (Strategy 5) that concerns library transformation to be the S&T information centre of the country.
