Abstract

The primary care service is a combination of health promotion, disease prevention and rehabilitation to improve the health of people. Operating in the PCU, nurses are responsible for providing health care services to the people. However, the rapid changes in global society mandates nurses to develop their competencies in response to the needs of the society more effectively. The nursing educational institutions, therefore, need to review the curriculum, educational process, and lecturers’ attributes and competencies. Collaboration between the education and service sectors are imperative for the production of nursing workforce to provide quality care for people at primary care units.
