Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) study the levels of teachers’ 21st century skills, 2) study the levels of teachers’ professional learning communities, 3) study the relationship between teachers’ 21st century skills and teachers’ professional learning communities, and 4) create a predictive equation for teachers’ 21st century skills affecting teachers’ professional learning communities in school for the deaf under special education bureau. Samples of this study were  274 teachers in school for the deaf under special education bureau. The tools were two questionnaires 5-levels scale. These questionnaires ask about the 21st century teacher skill factors. and inquiring about a teacher professional learning community. Statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression analysis.

The research findings were as follows :

  1. The level of teacher skills in the 21st century were at a high level.
  2. The professional learning communies were at a high level.
  3. Teacher skills in the 21st century and being a professional learning community of teachers had a relationship with statistical significance at the .01 level.
  4. The mutual factors of the teacher skills in the 21st century accounted the variance of the professional learning community of teachers with 66.10 percent, and its effect size had the statistical significance at .01 level. The predictive equations were at below:

Predictive equation in raw score:

           gif.latex?\hat{Y}       = .710+ .214 (X5) + .157 (X2) + .127 (X3) + .089 (X1) + .128 (X4) + .110 (X6)

Predictive equation in the standard score:

            gif.latex?\hat{Z}     = .249 (X5) + .181 (X2) + .137 (X3) + .126 (X1) + .137(X4) + .143 (X6)
