AN EVALUATION GENERAL EDUCATION CURRICULUM, VALAYA ALONGKORN RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY UNDER THE ROYAL PATRONAGE, PATHUM THANI PROVINCE

Abstract

          This research is conducted on performance assessment of the General Education Program of Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the Royal Patronage, Pathum Thani Province. The objective of this research is to assess the performance of the General Education Program of Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the Royal Patronage, Pathum Thani province in term of context, input factors, and process. The research samples were 500 bachelor degree students of Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the Royal Patronage, Pathum Thani province. They were selected by using stratified random sampling technique whereby the faculties and GE module were considered as strata. In addition, by using simple random sampling technique, there were also 10 respondents who were faculty members from the General Education program, Developers of the program manual, and Board of Directors of the General Education program. Research instrument was a survey. By assessing the content validity, it was found that the IOC was greater than 0.80. The result of quality assessment of the research instrument on reliability by using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.85.
          The result suggested that the execution of the General Education program was well-aligned with the program. The students in the General Education program were appropriately taught through the use of ACTIVE LEARNING. There was a performance assessment based on real condition. Nevertheless, the content in the documents provided was not completed. It is recommended that there should be some concrete manuals or documents for both faculty members and students.
