THE EFFECTS OF INQUIRY LEARNING CYCLE ON SCIENCE PROCESS SKILLS OF PRATHOMSUKSA 6 STUDENTS

Abstract

The objectives of this research were1) to compare the number of Prathomsuksa 6 students who obtained 70 percent of total scores of science process skill test with 75 percent students were taught through inquiry learning cycle, and 2) to compare the pretest and posttest scores of the science process skills of the Prathomsuksa 6 students after teaching through Inquiry learning cycle.


The sample was made up of 12 Prathomsuksa 6 students in the first semester  of the academic year 2018 at Watvijitrangsan School Chainat Primary Education Service Area. The random cluster sampling was used to select students. The research instruments were 1) 4 lesson plans based on inquiry learning cycle with a very appropriate quality    2) science process skills assessment and the reliability value is 0.95  The statistics used for the analysis were percentage, standard deviation and the statistics used in testing hypothesis were chi-square and Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test.


            The research findings were as follows:


  1. 100 percent of The Prathomsuksa 6 students who were taught through inquiry learning cycle passed the science process skill test criterion score is 70 percent of total scores at .05 level of significance.

  2. The Prathomsuksa 6 students who were taught through inquiry learning cycle had higher scores in posttest than that in pretest at .05 level of significance.
