บทคัดย่อ

หุ่นละครเล็กกับการถ่ายทอด เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประวัติความเป็นมา คุณลักษณะของหุ่นละครเล็กประเภทต่าง ๆ และวิธีการถ่ายทอดการเชิดหุ่นละครเล็ก ขอบเขตของการวิจัยคือศึกษาหุ่นละครเล็กของคณะ โจหลุยส์ของครูสาคร ยังเขียวสด การวิจัยครั้งนี้ได้ทำการศึกษาในสองระดับคือการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลต่าง ๆ จากเอกสารและงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องและศึกษาในระดับพื้นที่โดยการสำรวจภาคสนามคือการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยการใช้แนวทางการสัมภาษณ์ แนวทางการสังเกตแบบมีส่วนร่วมและรับการถ่ายทอดศิลปะการเชิดหุ่นจากศิลปินคณะโจหลุยส์ ทุกวันเสาร์และวันอาทิตย์ รวมเป็นระยะเวลา 1 ปี ผู้ให้ข้อมูลเป็นบุตรของครูสาคร ยังเขียวสด คือ คุณสุรินทร์ ยังเขียวสด, คุณพิสูตร ยังเขียวสดและศิลปินคณะโจหลุยส์

ผลการวิจัยพบว่า หุ่นละครเล็กคณะโจหลุยส์มีวิวัฒนาการมาจากหุ่นละครเล็กของคณะ ครู แกร ศัพทวนิช ซึ่งท่านได้เคยถวายตัวเป็นมหาดเล็กในวังวรดิศ และได้เห็นหุ่นหลวงประเภท “หุ่นเล็ก” ของกรมพระราชวังบวรวิชัยชาญที่มีลักษณะของหุ่นเป็นหุ่นมีตัว มีหัว แขน ขาครบ สามารถเคลื่อนไหวได้ทั้งตัวทั้งมือ ข้อศอก แขนและขา แต่งกายยืนเครื่องพระ นาง ท่านจึงประดิษฐ์ห่นุ ละครเลก็ เลียนแบบห่นุ หลวงคือเป็นห่นุ มีหัว ลำตัว แขน ขาและมีขนาดรูปร่างความสูงประมาณ 1 เมตร แต่มีการดัดแปลงกลไกให้น้อยลงคุณลักษณะของหุ่นละครเล็ก คือ เป็นหุ่นมีตัว มีหัว แขน ขาครบ สามารถเคลื่อนไหวได้ทั้งตัวทั้งมือ ข้อศอก แขนและขา วิธีการเชิดหุ่นละครเล็ก ใช้ผู้เชิด 3 คนต่อหุ่น 1 ตัว ซึ่งผู้เชิดต้องมีพื้นฐานในการฝึกหัดโขนละครและมีใจเป็นหนึ่งเดียวในการเชิดหุ่นให้มีกระบวนท่ารำเพื่อสื่อความหมาย คณะโจหลุยส์ได้พัฒนาลักษณะและกลไกของหุ่นให้เคลื่อนไหวนิ้วมือ กลอกตาและเหลียวหน้า การแต่งกายที่วิจิตร ฉาก เทคนิคแสงเสียง รวมทั้งวิธีการเชิดที่ให้ผู้เชิดทั้ง 1 คนแต่งกายชุดดำเพื่ออำพรางตัวออกมาเชิดบนเวที มีการถ่ายทอดที่เน้นการเชิดที่มีใจเป็นหนึ่งเดียว เริ่มจากการถ่ายทอดให้แก่ทายาทในตระกูลยังเขียวสดและถ่ายทอดให้แก่ผู้ที่สนใจในระยะต่อมา

The major objectives of a qualitative research on Method and Technique of Thai’s Puppet Performance Arts were to study the history and characteristics on many different kinds of puppets and study the method and technique of puppet manipulation. The research area was at Joe Louis Theater which belonged to Mr. Sakorn Youngkeosod. The research methodology was delivered into two steps: documentation including document collecting and researches involved and field study including interviewing, participative observation and active study on puppet manipulation from the experts from Joe Louis Theater. The processes of active study on puppet manipulation were on Saturdays and Sundays for a year.Interviewees were Mr.Surin Youngkeosod and Mr. Pisut Youngkeosod (Mr.Sakorn Youngkeosod’s sons) and many experts from Joe Louis Theater.

The research showed that the puppet of Joe Louis Theater was derived and developed from the small puppet of Mr. Grae Subtawanitch. He offered himself as a chamberlain in the Varadis Palace and he experienced the “small puppet” royal model of Krom Phra Ratchawang Bowon Wichaichan in which the puppet had complete head, legs and arms. Moreover, the body, elbow, arms and legs were able to move freely. The puppets were fully dressed as royal actor and actress. He, then, duplicated and constructed his own puppets which were similar to those royal ones. His puppets had one meter high and had got head, body, arms, legs and were able to move freely like the original. To manipulate such a puppet, three people were needed and basic movement of Khon was a must. The puppeteers had to move in harmony and dance movements of the puppet also conveyed the specific meaning—three puppeteers with one mind moved in harmony to make the puppet alive. The Joe Louise group also developed some mechanism inside the puppet to make fingers, eyes and face move. The puppet was fully and beautifully dressed. The scene, technique, light and sound including puppet manipulation were modified. The puppeteer disguised himself in a dark outfit to manipulate the puppet on the stage. The art of manipulation was transferred from generation to generation of the Youngkeosod family and the interested people in the later time.
