(Students Self-Regulated Learning Strategies of Mathematics and Teachers Self-Regulated Learning Strategies in Teaching Mathematics of Mathayomsuksa)

Abstract

           The objectives of this qualitative research are 1) to study students Self-Regulated Learning Strategies of Mathematics and teachers Self-Regulated Learning Strategies in teaching mathematics of Mathayomsuksa 3, and 2) to study the variables or conditions related to students Self-Regulated Learning Strategies of Mathematics and teachers Self-Regulated Learning Strategies in teaching mathematics of Mathayomsuksa 3.  Data were collected by in-depth interviews.  The key informants by selected purposive sampling are students of Mathayomsuksa 3 and theirs mathematics teachers of three secondary schools under Office of The Basic Education Commission.  By choosing these schools with the following characteristics: 1) has Mathayomsuksa 3 students who got O-NET scored 100 points of mathematics subject;  2) has the student of the Enrichment mathematics classroom; and 3) has the student of normal schools.

The findings reveal the following two results.  First, the students Self-Regulated Learning Strategies of Mathematics are Goal setting, Modeling, Self-evaluation, Seeking information, Self-consequences, Rehearsing & memorizing, Seeking social assistance; peer, teacher, Reviewing records; test, note, text,  Time management, and Tutorial.  Teachers Self-Regulated Learning Strategies in Teaching Mathematics are Goal setting, Self-evaluation, Seeking information, Rehearsing & memorizing, Seeking social assistance; peer, teacher, and Time management.  The variables or conditions related to students Self-Regulated Learning Strategies of Mathematics are Social Support, Learning inspiration, and Attitude, also Social support, and Teaching inspiration related to the teachers.
